  2. For me, my daughter requiring so much extra attention, needing so much therapy and having to take time away from the home and other sibblings to ensure she gets the developmental therapy she needs, was and is a definitely obstacle we are working through. It is a lot more than I was expecting it to be. But the benefit is that she is finally starting to make progress after 6 months. I am hopeful she will continue to improve and will soon be able to start cutting back on all the programs she has to use.

  3. The best book I read so far this year was Jillian Michaels Unlimited. It's a good motivating book and I hope to put some of what I learned from it into practice in 2013 and achieve my goals.

  4. What was an unexpected obstacle?

I would have to say all of the sickness in my family has been the hardest obstacles to deal with this year. I hope that with the new year will come a healthier family. This year has been tough so hopefully we will get a break.

  7. This is the question I chose: With whom were your most valuable relationships?
That would be with my husband. He is a Disabled Retired US ARMY vet. He has shown me that even the hardest things in life can be overcome and there is goodness in people.

  9. My world was shattered in 2011.I lost my only child to a terrible disease called Cystic Fibrosis. 2012 has been challenging trying to live without my daughter. I have been reading mysteries by Katia Leif and crocheting. This has helped somewhat.

  10. 2012 was by far my families toughest year! I Jan my mom was sent to the ER and after a cpl of weeks her doctors told us to take her home there was nothing more they could do so basically giving us about 2 weeks (she had been fighting brain tumors/cancer for 13 years). As always my mom was a fighter and didnt let go until October 24th. Nov 5th was my 1st birthday without her around and Nov 6th my sister had her first baby. So its definitely been a roller coaster year for us.

  12. These are very good questions esp for a family to talk together - help children and couples to become mindful about their life, their convictions. I had a tough year, but I also had some accomplishments that I had been hoping for a long time, that have to do with family type things ie not superficial. Good list!

  13. I grew Spiritually this past year through the passing of close family members. It has made me appreciate the fragility of life. I try to love truer, smile sweeter, give an encouraging word to someone else and try to see the needs of others around me, though they might not ask for help. We only pass this way once...

  18. The best thing that happened this year wasmy husband got a job with 100% Medical, Dental & Vision paid for the whole family. The single most challenging thing that happened was switching my kids to schools due to bulling, now I have to transport them daily. We went on a vacation to AZ out of the blue to see family! We did have a huge obsticale that was unexpected, my hubby found out he had no liscence...eekkk. To sum up this year in a nut shell without writing a book it was full of lots of heart ache and tears and I hate going back to those places as we are out with the year 2012 and on with 2013 and plan on in the new year moving to our own home out of the multi home living arangments we are in and we hope to get the kids in a great school and work on getting my hubby back on the road so I don't have to be out driving 7 hours a day between him and the kids. I am looking forward to more reward and less stress. I am kick'n butt and will take names later!!!!! BRING ON THE NEW YEAR!!!! Wishing you all the best!

  37. The year started really rough. My husband and I were having marital problems, my husband was in and out of work, I was denied for disability benefits, and my family took care of my terminally I'll father 24/7 until he passed away in May. Since then, my husband and I have grown closer, my relationships with my family are stronger than ever, and my relationship with God is going strong. I feel things can only get better.

  38. my life drastically changed around Feb of 2012 - red flags were raised regarding my son (then 6) and school and i found out that he was being abused (mostly emotionally but he was physically restrained several times and even slapped by a teacher once) - of course, the teacher in question (who'd only known my kid less than a month) said he'd been "telling stories lately and planned it all out" and me, knowing my kid for nearly 7 years, knew better. so after IEP meetings were called and no one listening to my plea for a change in classroom, i pulled him out of public school and began homeschooling. it took months for him to regain confidence in himself (upon exiting K, he was the best reader in his class - upon pulling him out halfway through 1st, he would cry and convulse and have a meltdown if he didn't know a word)... but he's progressed so much further than he would've in a harmful environment. i've had to quit my merchandising jobs and become a SAHM in order to homeschool (i'm on SSI, luckily, so i have a LITTLE income) - i've had the police come around trying to scare me into putting him back in school - i've had DCFS knocking on my door saying i'm neglecting my kid, etc. but i know that i'm doing the right thing because my kid is thriving and not trying to shove himself into garbage bags to be thrown in the dumpster anymore.

  46. We were behind on our house payment and we knew that the bank was probably going to take our house so we had somewhat planned for it. One day we seen an article online stating that the bank wouldn't be foreclosing on any houses until after the holidays...hahahaha so funny. The very next day our house was up for sale in the newspaper :(. So we had to move quick, we offered them the $ we owed for the house but they wanted us to refinance cause they knew they would probably get more money out of us. Honestly the house wasn't worth what we owed for it. It was falling apart due to the coal mines mountain top mining right across the mountain from us. So it had shook our houses foundation so much that it was literally starting to crack down the middle on the inside. We ended up moving on 12/21 and had our first Christmas in our new house thanks to my in-laws help. If it weren't for them we would probably be homeless right now. That was my most unexpected event last year, yet would probably fit into more of the questions above. :) I'm very thankful for the love and help we have received.

  47. 2012 was an amazing year.
My daughter went to kindergarten my son to JR high. We took family vacations (we had never been on one just the 4 of us) and spent the year just in happiness.
2013 is looking to not be so well :(
My mother was just diagnosed with cancer and her treatments and such are about to begin.
2013 better bring my mom a new life. Or I will kick its arse ;)
